Introduction of the Bureau of Audit of Suzhou Municipality In September 1983, the Bureau of Audit of Suzhou Municipality was established by the People’s Government of Suzhou Municipality, in accordance with the stipulation of "Constitution of the People's Republic of China" that the state shall exercise supervision through auditing.

Since her establishment, relying on long labor of all auditors, the audit work has consistently been developed. Tightly focusing on economics construction of Suzhou, the audit work is always being performed abiding by the laws and regulations, with strong emphasis on key points as well. During these activities, the audit method is kept improving and the audit quality enhancing. Certainly, auditing has played an irreplaceable role in supervising financial and economic activities and promoting the development of democracy and legal system, with contribution to the reform and modern development of Suzhou.

Over twenty years, the Bureau of Audit of Suzhou Municipality has audited 9534 units and found out the fund violating the law and discipline of 9.9 billion yuan in total, which in turn increased financial revenue by 1.1 billion yuan.

The Bureau of Audit of Suzhou Municipality was awarded the title of “National Advanced Audit Institution” for two consecutive times by the National Audit Office and Ministry of Personnel of the People’s Republic of China.
